Dr Lau graduated with a medical degree from the University of Auckland in 2007 and trained as a cardiologist through the Green Lane Cardiovascular Service and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physician in 2015. Gary is currently employed as a consultant cardiologist at Waitemata District Health Board.

He has a strong interest in cardiac imaging and will start an advanced imaging fellowship in early 2018 at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, Australia.

Being dual-trained as an Internal Medicine specialist including a year long intensive care experience, he also has expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex, chronic and multisystem disorders.

Outside of work, Gary enjoys spending time with his family and friends; indulging in good food, music, travelling and the great outdoors.
