Ammar Alsamarra'I
Ammar graduated from Auckland Medical School in 2014, and trained throughout the Auckland region, where he practiced in various medical specialties, including one year in the intensive care unit. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2024.
He completed further subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology at Waikato Hospital, where he obtained broad exposure to different techniques. He has a keen interest in intracoronary imaging and physiology, and uses these extensively in his procedural practice.
Ammar works at North Shore Hospital as a General and Interventional Cardiologist. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland, and has published multiple research articles covering different aspects of cardiology. His research activity can be viewed here.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and community.
