Denise Van Der Linde
MD, MSc, PhD, FRACP
Denise graduated from Erasmus University Medical Centre in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in 2014. She completed her training and fellowship as a non-invasive imaging cardiologist at Erasmus University Medical Centre in Rotterdam in 2021; as well as an executive Master of Science degree in Clinical Research and Epidemiology in 2011 (Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences, Rotterdam in collaboration with Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, USA).
In 2013, Denise obtained her PhD degree cum laude for her thesis entitled “Congenital Aortic Stenosis and Aneurysms” at the Erasmus University Medical Centre in collaboration with the Peter Munk Cardiac Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. After obtaining her PhD, she continued with a Post-Doc Fellow position in aortic disease at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, NSW, Australia.
Denise is currently working as a consultant cardiologist at both North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals in Auckland. Denise is a general and cardiac imaging specialist with expertise in transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography, cardiac CT and MRI.
Her expertise and specific areas of interest include genetic aortic disease, cardiac disease in pregnancy and cardio-oncology. She is the clinical lead in cardio-oncology in the Cardiology Institute.
Outside of work, Denise enjoys spending time with her young family; and is an avid traveller, who loves cycling, hiking and snowboarding.
