Gary Lau
MBChB, FRACP
Gary graduated with a medical degree from the University of Auckland in 2007. He trained as a cardiologist through the Green Lane Cardiovascular Service and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physician in 2015. He went on to complete the Advanced Imaging Fellowship at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, Australia before returning to New Zealand in 2019. He is currently a consultant cardiologist at both North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals in Auckland.
Gary is a general and cardiac imaging specialist, sub-specialising in echocardiography; transthoracic, transoesophageal and stress echocardiography. His expertise covers most aspects of cardiology with interest in complex valve disease and coronary artery disease. He is also part of the heart failure team at North Shore Hospital, working closely with cardiac nurse specialists in managing patients with severe cardiomyopathy (heart failure).
Outside of work, he is a passionate Formula One fan, enjoys keeping up with all things tech and loves his family and travels.
