Shawn Foo

Shawn is a consultant cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist at North Shore Hospital, Auckland. After graduating from the University of Liverpool, UK, Shawn undertook postgraduate medical training in Manchester and worked at the National Heart Centre in Singapore before relocating to New Zealand in 2014.
Shawn has worked at several New Zealand public hospitals including North Shore, Auckland City and Middlemore Hospitals. He completed his subspecialty cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney.
Shawn’s cardiology subspecialty interest is in Cardiac Electrophysiology, he received his Graduate Diploma of Cardiac Electrophysiology in 2020. With 13 peer-reviewed publications already, Shawn is furthering his education and research, currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine (MD) on cardiac implantable electronic device use, implant trends and outcomes in New Zealand.
A fluent Mandarin speaker, Shawn is pleased to be able to communicate with Chinese patients in their native language to help them understand their clinical condition.
Outside work, Shawn enjoys travelling and spending time with his family.
