  • Headphones often function better than speakers.

  • Make sure that you are in a quiet and private environment during the appointment.

In offering a telehealth appointment

  • Cardiology Institute has balanced the risks and benefits to the patient, and the clinician has been satisfied that we could adequately clinically assess the patient without the benefit of a physical examination.

  • We may ask you to identify yourself, so that we are satisfied that we are speaking to the right patient.

  • Please let us know who else is in the room with you at the time, and ensure that privacy is adequate for you to discuss your clinical status with us.

  • Patients do have an informed choice in opting for the telehealth appointment. Please let our team know if you prefer to come to the clinic for an in-person appointment.

  • Our team may decide to arrange a subsequent in-person appointment, if we feel that physical examination is essential in the care encounter or if telehealth was inadequate.

  • Recording of the encounter is not permitted, unless there has been prior consent by our team.
